Customer case – improved HSE and recovery efficiency

On Statfjord A, the customer implemented the Jagtech Dual MAPS System to enhance magnetic-particle capture and simplify magnet handling at the rigsite.

The enclosed design with integrated scraper delivered immediate performance and safety improvements.

Technology applied

Jagtech Dual MAPS System (Metallic Active Particle Separator)
A pre-engineered, flow-positioned magnetic separator featuring:

  • Full flow-section coverage with magnets arranged in a defined grid
  • Titanium rods with stacked neodymium magnets for consistent high field strength
  • Integrated scraper and semi-automatic cleaning system for safer maintenance

Customer results

Feedback from the Statfjord A installation showed:

  • Immediate five-fold improvement in metallic-particle recovery compared with previous magnets
  • Reduced fumes and improved HSE through the enclosed-lid design
  • Simplified cleaning using the integrated wiper/scraper system
  • Captured 2 kg of metal versus 0.3 kg previously during the same period

These results demonstrated higher recovery efficiency, improved working conditions, and reduced manual handling at the flowline.

Operational insight
