Customer case – validating Dual Shear Gun performance across regions
Field trials conducted by major operators in the U.S. and Canada evaluated the Jagtech Dual Shear Gun (DSG) for improved drilling-fluid conditioning.
The DSG combines fluid shearing and jet-impact mixing to create a stable, homogeneous emulsion that reduces sagging and maintains consistent rheology across mud systems.
Technology applied
Jagtech Dual Shear Gun (DSG)
A compact shearing and mixing unit designed for both oil-based and water-based drilling fluids. The system generates high-energy shear and particle dispersion without metallic wear, improving electric stability and long-term mud performance.
Field results
The North American field trials demonstrated:
- Up to 100 % improvement in Electric Stability (ES)
- Improved low shear viscosity
- Reduced sagging and improved emulsion stability over time
These outcomes confirmed the Dual Shear Gun’s capability to deliver consistent fluid quality and reliable performance across multiple rigs and different operator environments.
Operational insight
The portable, tank-mounted setup allowed rapid installation and efficient mud conditioning directly at the rigsite, supporting stable operations without extended downtime.
